Dr. Bill Bengston would be the first person to tell you that he is a skeptic … he is a pure academic that doesn’t allow belief to come into play – only double-blind, tested to the highest degree proof is worth looking at. When looking at the results of the tests he has done over the course of the last 3 decades, he doesn’t claim to know why the results happen but finds them interesting enough that he continues the tests to see if there is some way to dis-prove what is happening with the results.
In the 70s, Dr. Bengston had a bad back. He had to give up a swimming scholarship due to the pain he experienced daily. He met a man that claimed to have spontaneously developed the ability to heal with his hands … and Dr. Bengston said “okay, put your hands on my back” … his pain went away and never returned. This lead to the research he has focused on for the last 3 decades. He initially started this research with the intent of disproving that this could work – regardless that it had helped him heal his back.
He spoke with the hands-on healer that had helped him and tried to figure out what he was doing in an effort to replicate the process. His thought was that if it was something only the healer could do, it wasn’t worth studying but if it could be taught and replicated, then that was curious enough for further study.
What was developed is a technique that Dr. Bengston calls “Image Cycling”.
In order to prove or disprove this area of research, he created a test using mice. The mice were injected with a form of cancer that had been used in over 2000 other scientific studies, where no mouse had lived past 27 days. They injected 16 mice, and separated 8 mice that wouldn’t receive any care into a different room. The remaining 8 mice would receive hands-on healing from Dr. Bengston and graduate students that had volunteered to assist in the study. All the students were taught the early version of the “Image Cycling” method, and they all committed to going into the lab daily to give the mice attention.
What happened shocked Dr. Bengston! The cancers appeared, initially, to continue to grow as they normally would, but then something incredible happened. The cancers seemed to implode on themselves and then started to shrink and eventually disappeared!! Even more interestingly, when those same mice were injected with the same cancer again, the cancer DIDN’T TAKE. Not only were the mice cured, but they were also unable to develop that form of cancer again.
Please see the link provided below that shows the mice in the initial research.
Since the early studies, there have been many more done around the world, in different labs, with not only mice but also other animals and cells. They have also branched out to different illnesses like Alzheimer’s. The results continue to astound Dr. Bengston and his team. As the studies have continued to be refined, the cure rate has gone from about 79% to near 100%, with varying lengths of time.
Sometimes it takes a few days, sometimes it takes a few weeks. What is interesting is that the more aggressive the illness, the faster the healing seems to happen. Benign conditions (like cysts and warts) don’t seem to be affected at all, whereas, the more serious illnesses appear to heal quickly. The theory is that aggressive illnesses have higher amounts of energy and so when the healing takes place, that energy is then used to heal instead of continuing the downward cycle of illness.
Later studies injected the blood of healed mice into mice that are sick with the same cancer, and it cured the sick mice, leading to the thought that we could be looking at a possible cure for cancer. They are now studying why this happens but more research is needed.
This is an emerging health modality that needs to be watched and given more funding. However, Dr. Bengston has come against organizations that don’t want to see his work continue.
Initially, private labs, universities, members of academia, and medical establishments had “frozen him out” of their medical laboratories, as his research didn’t support their western-medical models. His initial research was done at universities like Arizona State, UConn School of Medicine, Indiana University School of Medicine, University of California, and Thomas Jefferson University. When the lab tests showed healing of the infected mice without the use of their (western) medical facilities, many of the schools asked him to leave. This led to him looking outside of the U.S. and working with labs and schools in various countries like Japan, Germany, and the Netherlands.
Currently, most of his research is being done at his funded lab at Brown University in Rhode Island.
His research continues to progress regardless of the hurdles he encounters, and it is apparent that more funding is needed to expand the research. The possible benefit to humanity is untapped and expansive.
